About us:

Microsoft first opened its doors in Ireland in 1985 with a small manufacturing facility employing just over one hundred people.

Since that time, Microsoft Ireland has grown to encompass four distinct operations at its campus in Sandyford in Dublin, employing over 1,200 full time employees and 700 full-time contract staff.

Microsoft’s operations in Ireland include software development and testing, localisation, operations, finance, IT, HR and sales & marketing, both here in Ireland and across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

We have three separate divisions here, supporting our business across Europe, Middle East and Africa:

• Microsoft EMEA Operations Centre (EOC) – established in 1985 provides support for business services from manufacturing to finance, supply chain management, billing and partner management, for 85 countries.

• Microsoft European Development Centre (EDC) – focused on engineering excellence and development of Windows Media Centre, security, anti-virus research, and the localisation of over one hundred products and services, from Microsoft Office to MSN and the Xbox 360, into over 30 languages.

• Microsoft Sales, Marketing & Services Group (SMSG) – established in 1991 and manages all sales, marketing, services and technical support for partners and customers of all sizes from enterprise customers, to small and medium sized businesses and home users.
